La Ferme Du Plateau | Grolleau 2016
Region: Loire Valley, France
Grapes: Grolleau
I was introduced to Adrien Beloche and his wife Nanou by my friend James Erskine of Jauma Estate. I hadn’t opened a bottle in some time, but when I did in August I was struck by how youthful it was, how much it had grown into itself (so to speak).
Fluid and free, a lightness shines, with black fruits, black pepper, cardamon and pops of freshness. A fine graphite edge, it is an absolutely stunning glass of wine. Pot au feu or silverside would be a delight here.
